Blessings Guide
In this world there exists a constant connection between mortals and those residing in the Spirit World: Gods, Angels and Spirits alike. It’s not uncommon for vulnerable mortals to raise their voices in prayer to these beings, looking for comfort, reassurance and help from time to time. This is why mortals have created Temples of Worship, places in which they can focus their prayers and offerings to these beings in hopes to be heard and, perhaps, get an answer back.
If your prayer has been heard you might be given a boon by your being of choice, these can be boosts in your stats for the next battle(s), a bit of extra health when you or a loved one is feeling ill, items to help in your journeys, physical or mental protection from enemies and even clues or hints on the future events to come.
You have to be very careful who you’re offering your prayers and gifts to, as not all beings are the same:
- God blessings are the strongest of them all, with the downside that an offering is usually required to get the god’s attention. A bad offering can offend the god and get you on their wrong side instead.
- Angel blessings are slightly less powerful, but there’s a chance the angel will contact their god in your stead if they think it’s urgent enough.
- Elemental spirits can only grant small boons, they don’t require any offerings.
In order to pray to a god or angel for a blessing you must go to the nearest temple and present your offering, there you will have the quiet space to establish a connection to the spirit realm. Depending on your spiritual connection, prayer and offering there can be several outcomes, for example:
- No verbal or physical response at all.
- No physical response, but a verbal one from the god/angel granting you their blessing.
- A verbal and physical response from the god, in which they appear before you to grant a stronger blessing.
- No physical response, but a verbal one in which they find your gift offensive.
- A verbal and physical response from the god, in which they appear before you since the offering was an offense and they have decided to take action against you.
