Pantheon

The pantheon of the world consists of 21 gods, with the king of all of them being Ansel, The King of Eternity. The pantheon is led by him first and foremost, with the departed God of Life and the mysterious God of Death sitting directly under him in terms of rank. The three of them used to rule as a trio, with Life and Death evenly ranked and Ansel sitting directly above them, however, due to Life’s passing and Death’s disappearance, Ansel currently sits as the sole leader of the rest of the pantheon.

All 21 gods are divided into 6 houses, all revolving around certain themes. Each house was directly under the rule of either Ansel, Life or Death, along with each house having a second in command, however, due to Life and Death’s absence some houses are now left without a leader. In these cases, their second in commands have stepped up to rule the charge. It should be noted that the houses are physical places able to be visited should one gain access to the spirit realm, as well as the literal homes to the gods that reside inside them.

When a mortal chooses to worship the gods, they are able to devote their worship to one god in particular, or they may choose to worship the house as a whole. There is no right or wrong way to choose who to worship, but if you choose to leave a specific god an offering to try and get granted their blessings, be careful to not leave a gift they dislike!

The houses are as follows:

Grand Palace of Astral Harmony

The most powerful house of the pantheon, created and headed by Ansel, the king of all gods, with Eos as his second in command. The gods of this house work directly under him, and are grouped by the theme of fate, the stars, and having balance in the world. In the spirit realm, this house has the biggest, grandest palace, located in the spirit realm equivalent of Reverie. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • Ansel, The King of Eternity
  • Eos, Earnest Wishmaker
  • Naltla, Lady of Serenity
  • Milathi, Lady of Chaos

Palace of Solar Sanctuary

Directly under the Grand Palace of Astral Harmony in regards to rank sits the Palace of Solar Sanctuary. Originally created by the now deceased God of Life, the house is currently being overseen by his second in command, Solaris. While smaller than the Grand Palace, the Palace of Solar Sanctuary ties as the second largest palace in the spirit realm, with the house theme revolving around the ideas of life, light and having the will to keep moving forward. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • The God of Life
  • Solaris, Before the Dawn
  • Ketut, The Guardian of Courage
  • Adagio, The Knight of Compassion

Palace of Moonlit Memories

Matching the rank of the Palace of Solar Sanctuary sits the Palace of Moonlit Memories, originally created by the God of Death. After Death’s disappearance, the house is currently being overseen by their second in command, Kamari. It mirrors Solar Sanctuary in size, and has the overarching themes of death, the night, fear, dreams and memories. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • The God of Death
  • Kamari, The General of Midnight
  • Narcissa, The Protector of Dreams
  • Nimora, The Mistress of Remembrance

House of Divine Mysteries

Below the rank of the three palaces sits the final three houses, all matching each other in rank. The first is the House of Divine Mysteries, which is under the rule of Ansel. While smaller than any of the palaces, the house is still quite impressive and has very mystical qualities. The themes of Divine Mysteries revolve around the concept of magic and anti-magic, divination and the unknown. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • Senka, The Mother of Magic
  • Nisha, She Who Dances in the Dark
  • Morgana, The Seer of the Unknown

House of Roaring Tempest

Commonly known as the house of the elementals to mortals, the House of Roaring Tempest was originally under the rule of the God of Death. The themes of the house revolve around how the earth, the skies and the sea all interact with one another. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • Picori, The Keeper of the Grove
  • Chariot, She Who Guides the Breeze
  • Neptune, The Seamstress of the Tides

House of Lyrical Enchantment

The final house of the pantheon, originally under the rule of the God of Life. The themes of Lyrical Enchantment revolve around emotions, the concept of beauty vs. wisdom and love. The gods that belong to this house are as follows:

  • Sari, The Princess of Passion
  • Camille, Her Grace Upon the World
  • Seongjin, The Master of Insight

Spirit Lore

The spirit realm is a realm known to mortals that houses not only the gods, but spirits as well. It exists on a parallel plane to the mortal realm, and can’t be regularly accessed without divine assistance. The spirit realm is known for hosting two different kinds of spirits: lesser gods and the spirits of departed mortals.

Lesser gods are a type of spirit that gained sentience through mortal prayers and offerings left to an idea of a deity. For example, if a farmer believed there to be a god inside of the well on their farm and started to leave offerings to the well in exchange for water for their crops, a “god of the well” would be created as a spirit. These spirits are far less powerful than the normal gods of the pantheon, but they are able to bestow minor blessings, as well as serving as a bridge between mortals and their gods by delivering prayers and offerings. Lesser gods are usually elemental in nature.

Spirits of departed mortals are mortals who have passed on but linger in the spirit realm in hopes of a second chance at life. They are unable to bestow blessings and are essentially just inhabitants of the realm. These spirits may either live in one of the houses of the gods should they have a close relationship with a particular god, or in a home that houses their ancestors. They will also keep all memories of their life as a living mortal.

When in the spirit realm, both types of spirits appear as anthropomorphic animals, just as mortals do. Elemental spirits will have some sort of elemental insignia on their design. When in the mortal realm, however, they will appear in the form of a small, elemental shape. For departed mortals, their shape will be determined by their soul bonded house. They are as follows:

Spirits possess more magical power than mortals do, however, they are physically weaker than them.
